This summer, to accommodate the event’s growing popularity, the fair moves to a larger and more suitable location, the Sculpture Fields of Nova’s Ark, just 1,000 yards from the 2011 site. It will be situated on an amazingly bucolic 97 acre nature preserve, featuring a dramatic Sculpture Park, serene pastures with grazing horses and sheep, and polo fields (with several games scheduled during the fair). The Armory Show is the most prestigious annual art event in New York City, it is known as a place for great discoveries on both Modern and Contemporary art. Once advertised as the the biggest contemporary art show in New York, The Armory Show is downsizing by 25 percent, from 274 to 220 exhibiting galleries. The plan is to reinvent the 14 year old event as a “Boutique fair”. Booths are being made larger, and more cafes and lounges are being added. This year The Armory’s focus will be on the Nordic countries ( Last year it was Latin America) this is an invitation only component of The Armory Show, it will feature select galleries from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland. The Armory Contemporary, on Pier 94, will feature 120 leading international exhibitors. The Modern, a section dedicated to international dealers specializing in historically significant Modern art, will present 71 exhibitors representing nine countries. With one admission ticket, visitors to The Armory Show on March 8 – 11, 2012 will now have access not only to the newest developments in the art world, but also to the masterpieces that heralded them.
With exciting events occurring during the show alongside innovative food and reinvigorated design by world acclaimed architectural firm, Bade Stageberd Cox, this year’s show promises something exciting for everyone, from the Art connoisseur to the young enthusiast alike.

Art priced from $100 – $10,000, with half of the work under $5,000, the Affordable Art Fair will present original, contemporary works to entice the entire L.A. community. If the art is not in your repertoire, then by all means come for the food!
